Colin Gonsalves, Founder, HRLN was presented with the award of Doctor of the University, honoris causa, by the University of Middlesex, UK. Gonsalves was honoured for his outstanding contribution to society and path-defining works and achievements in the field of humanitarian laws on July five at the Middlesex University Business School graduation ceremony.

Mr Colin H Gonsalves, Founder, Human Rights Law Network, was honoured by IIT, Bombay with Distinguished Alumnus Award 2010. Mr Colin H. Gonsalves, is a B.Tech (1975) from the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Bombay.Mr Gonsalves began working as a civil engineer, but was drawn to the law through union work and concerns over labour issues and exploitation. In 1979, he started studying law at night school.
