TRAINING/ SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME FOR DELHI POLICE ON JUVENILE JUSTICE

HRLN’s Child Rights Initiative has undertaken a training programme for Delhi Police on Juvenile Justice. HRLN will train police personnel deputed at ten police stations of two districts in Delhi on juvenile justice for duration of one year (2010). This programme is an initiative of Special Police Unit for Women & Children of Delhi Police and it is aimed an sensitizing the police force, deputed at the police stations, about juvenile justice . Police staff deputed at police stations is the first contact for children and hence to train and sensitize them is very important. HRLN lawyers and social workers provide such trainings at the police stations on two days a week basis. Sessions are of 1-2 hours duration, which are conducted in an interactive environment.  These trainings will continue for entire 2010.

There are 106 police stations under 13 districts in Delhi having an approximate 50,000 of police force. HRLN will be providing training to 10 police stations of two districts. HRLN has constituted a team of lawyers and social workers who have expertise of the subject and have been working on the issue. The HRLN team for such trainings includes:
