edited by Gabriella Wass
In February 2011, HRLN brought together eminent lawyers, academics and activists who had experienced and worked within the complex tension between business and human rights in India and organised “National Consultation on Litigating Against Corporations for Human Rights” in Goa -India.
“Corporate Activity and Human Rights in India”, a recent publcation of HRLN, edited by Gabriella Wass documents the narratives presented at the conference. While examining the phenomenon of the damaging side of corporate activity, this book provides real, fresh and honest stories from an unusual breadgth of those fighting on India's frontline. These stories provide a rich, raw, unceremonious description of relationship between businesses and corporations in India as it currently stands. The book is designed to offer the reader a more comprehensive text, describing the problem faced, explaining its root and proposes ways to combat it by using Iitigation and activism.
