High Court of Delhi directed the Anti Human Trafficking Unit to produce the trafficked minor girl before the court

This Petition is filed under article 226 of the Constitution of India invoking the writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondents to produce the custody of petitioner’s sister who is a minor before this Hon'ble Court at the earliest. It is the case of the petitioner that the prime accused who has been running one placement agency named R. B. Placement agency through his associates trafficked his sister from Assam to Delhi by luring her with better employment opportunities.

Petitioner’s sister along with other two girls came to Delhi in the month of November 2020 and since then it has been approximately more than 290 days. For once his sister was in contact with the family when she was at the agency but soon after she was placed as a domestic help at some household in Delhi, her family lost contact with her. Petitioner states it is only of late somehow his sister managed to contact her family in the first week of August 2020, where she expressed her desire to come back home to Assam and how she was refrained from doing so. since there has been a complete deprivation of any communication between the petitioner and her sister, despite several rigorous attempts. As a result of which, the petitioner is extremely distressed about the whereabouts of her sister and pertaining to the situation of the ongoing pandemic his concerns and fears have multiplied. The welfare and the safety is in impending jeopardy with every passing minute if the petitioner is not released immediately. It is pertinent to mention that the respondents have failed to perform their duties.

The writ of Habeas Corpus was filed by Advocates Mr. Arun Kasi and Ms. Ankita Wilson before the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi on 04.09.2020.

 The Hon'ble Divisional Bench issued notice and directed the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (Crime Branch) to produce the minor girl before the court on 15.09.2020
