Interim Relief seeks by survivor of a gruesome acid attack granted by Delhi High Court

The petitioner is a victim of a gruesome acid attack, who at the very prime of her youth having a bright future and opportunity is truncated at the very hands of her husband and in-laws. Her drunkard husband forcefully administered acid into her mouth. The forceful ingested acid damaged her oesophagus and small intestines.

While she has no income, she has a 7 years old fully depending on her. She is still undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Delhi. And thus very ill and incapacitated from carrying out any regular work/employment.

Hence, the petitioner seeks compensation in terms of the Delhi Victim Compensation Scheme 2018, whereby she is eligible to receive an amount of Rs.3, 00,000 as interim relief from Delhi Legal Services Authority as well as another financial relief of Rs. 1,00,000 under the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.

Hon’ble High Court of Delhi held that she has a proven case of acid attack and direct the concerned authority to disbursed the compensation/interim relief within 2 weeks.
