The petition was filed in Public Interest seeking issuance of order or direction for rehabilitation of the residents of Arjun Das Cluster in East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi. The petitioners also sought an order directing Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to correct the previous survey done in 2008 to ensure that all eligible residents are provided rehabilitation. The petition also seeks a stay order preventing any further evictions or harassment of the residents until proper rehabilitation has been completed. It also seeks an order that the MCD follow the Protocol for Rehabilitation, Evictions and Demolitions in this and all future slum, JJ cluster or other similar removal action.
