Suneera Vs Mohammedkutty Background Suneera , 38 years old, D/o Khadar, Kolakkadan House,Thazhay Arapetta,Meppadi was married to Mohammed Kutty, S/o. Moideen kutty, Mampetta House, Thazhay Arapetta,Meppadi on 17-9-2000. They have two children, Julshin Mohammed (15 years old ) and Jinsha Mohammed ( 12 years old). He is a supervisor in a private tea estate and he also work as a part time driver. He is an alcoholic and spends the money he earns for alcoholic beverages and he is suspicious about his wife's behaviour. As the wife has no income of her own as she is a housewife she had asked him to permit her to go for some work. But he refused and started to beat her. The husband does not give any money for the household expenses, but beats her whenever she asks for money. It was in this situation she approached SLIC for legal help. Considering the urgency of the matter a petition was filed before Family Court Kalpetta for maintenance on 16-9-2016. Status The court passed an order directing the respondent to pay maintenance of Rs. 3000/ (Rupees three thousand only) per month and that the amount shall be deposited in the petitioner’s bank account on or before 5th of every month.
