Minor rape survivor's safe medical termination of pregnancy of 23 weeks

It's a case where a 14-year-old rape survivor was denied Medical Termination of Pregnancy on the ground that her pregnancy  has already crossed  20 weeks. The State Government and the Superintendent of SCB Medical College and Hospital were oblivious to the fact that the Medical Termination of Pregnancy(Amendment) Act 2021 has already come into force and Medical termination of pregnancy is permissible within 24 weeks.  The Hon'ble High Court headed by the Division Bench of  Chief Justice Muralidharan and  Justice B.P. Routray has directed the Superintendent SCB Medical College Hospital to proceed with the process of Medical Termination of Pregnancy 10.04.2021 by  noon and have further directed to post the matter to 12th of April to intimate the Court regarding  the steps taken in the case. 
The matter was taken up on 12th April wherein the Superintendent SCB Medical College and Hospital intimated the Court that the Medical Board on 09.04.2021 conveyed a meeting and decided to move ahead with safe medical termination of pregnancy and on the early morning of 11th April the procedure was completed and the girl is recovering.
