Rohit Ghosh & Another versus State of Assam & 4 Others; PIL No. 69/16; Gauhati High Court Through an RTI, we learnt that there are no blood bank or blood storage facilities in entire Udalguri district. As per IPHS, a CHC is required to have a blood storage facility and a District Hospital should have a blood bank. Blood transfusion often becomes necessary in health-related health-related cases, in anemic patients, in cases of accidents, etc. Thus in larger public interest, we have prayed for establishing blood bank and blood storage facilities in the health centers of Udalguri and following proper standards therein. Notice has been issued to respondents.
