Woman harassed and murdered by in-laws for giving birth to girls: FIR registered under section 306

Sanjay Vs SHO Kalyanpuri The deceased Usha's marriage was on 11/07/2011. It was alleged that husband family was ill-treating her for want of dowry as well as giving birth to two girl children. It was alleged Father in-law used to taunt her on this issue. Brother in-law who was like unruly beaten her many time and threaten her to thrown out of the matrimonial home.On 18/07/2014 the brother got information through her husband that Usha hanged herself. When they reached her matrimonial home she was found still in hanging position, her feet were on the floor and in bending position. At the place of hanging there was no hosting aid near to the body. The rope was tightly fastened to the hook.All the circumstances gave the impression that it was not a case of suicide.Still the police did not register the FIR even though the 164 Cr.P.C statement of mother reveals the cognizable offence.The photographs which the Complaint has taken enough proof of the manner of death. On the contrary the police ridiculed and threatened the complainant away,when they approached for filing FIR. Complainant even sent their written complaint to SHO, ACP and DCP concerned but there was no reply on the part of the investigating officers. Status That finally the complainant approached the trial court u/S156(3) for the registration of the FIR. Only after seven months of the incident FIR got registered U/S 306 IPC, since the death was happened beyond seven years time.But the investigative officers' lackadaisical attitude was very clear. So the trial court thrice changed the IO's of this matter. The police then after two years filed closure report telling that they haven't get any evidence against the accused persons. So the Complainant filed protest petition. It was heard, and order has given to call the doctor who was conduct the post-mortem as well given the subsequent opinion that the the death is 'Asphyxia due to hanging'.
