Assam Nandita litigated a broad spectrum of cases, but focused particularly on cases from the Women’s Justice Initiative, Refugee Rights Initiative and Child Rights Initiative at SLIC. Nandita has represented Rohingyas who were sought to be deported from different parts of Assam. She has also fought on behalf of women and children seeking legal recourse after surviving domestic violence. Nandita also assisted Advocate Debasmita Ghosh in the ‘D voter list’ cases, where persons are sought to be deported on the allegation of being foreign nationals due to their religion.
